Late but exciting news in the world of Flex is the new non-commercial license that Macromedia recently announced. This is a great opportunity for developers such as myself who were itching to play with this new promising platform. While I thought to myself 'How am I going to be able to wait until the end of November?', I remembered that the company I work for recently subscribed to DevNet. This means I can start developing with Flex now! I am currently going page-by-page through MM Press' Developing Rich Clients with Macromedia Flex (written by two excellent developers at iteration::two, Steven Webster and Alistair McLeod). I highly recommend this book to anyone who is getting started in Flex. Within two chapters, you will have created a cool Blog Reader app! I will be posting my experiences with Flex here (and possibly some integration with Central).
